Welcome to our new website dedicated to Portadown Amateur Swimming Club. Whether you are one of our current swimmers, an interested newcomer or just a bit of a web ‘surfer’ we hope that you will return again or better still, why not add us to your ‘Favourites’? As you can see the site is very much a work in progress but we hope to develop new areas over the forthcoming months.

PASC was formed shortly after the opening of ‘Cascades’ Leisure Centre, Portadown, in 1970 and in common with many clubs we have had our share of ‘highs and lows’ since then. However, with current membership of approximately 200 ranging from complete beginners to ‘Teletot’ and PTL swimmers we are once again optimistic about the future.

Wednesday remains the official ‘Club Night’ when much of the routine business of running the club is carried out. Sessions run from 6.30 to 8.30 pm according to age and ability; junior members swim during the first hour, while older, more experienced swimmers occupy the later slot. Additional training sessions take place throughout the week.

There are currently 12 qualified coaches either at ‘Teacher’ or ‘Assistant Teacher’ level PASC also has a hardworking backroom support staff that help to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the club. It is our aim to encourage, promote and develop the standard of our swimmers to enable them to compete in local and ‘national’ events. New members are always welcome and the club is proud of the fact that it draws upon the active support of the whole local community.

PASC are represented in two competitive leagues. The ‘senior’ team, which includes swimmers from 9 to 18+ years of age, competes in Division 3 of the Provincial Towns League, while our junior ‘Teletot’ swimmers are also in Division 2 of their ‘Belfast Telegraph’ sponsored competition. Both teams are looking forward to the new season and are determined to give 100% effort as they seek to make their mark in the forthcoming galas. We wish them well both as individual swimmers and as members of the team.
